Toad's physiology is adapted to mimic the amphibian for which he is named. He is a mutant possessing superstrength concentrated in his legs and lower torso which makes him a prodigious leaper. He has been observed reaching an altitude of twenty-four feet and covering a distance on the ground of thirty-six feet in a single leap. No definite limit to his leaping ability is yet known. Although the Toad usually stands in a crouching position, he can stand erect if he wishes. His unusually flexible spine enables him to crouch continually without damage. His vision has been enhanced allowing him to see even in conditions of extremely low light, though not total darkness. His fingers and toes are webbed making him a gifted swimmer. He can resist extremes of temperature extremely well. His tongue is unusually long and prehensile and his possesses glands that secrete a paralytic toxin that is also adhesive allowing him to adhere to flat services and even hang upside down for a short time.
