History: Douglock's history began with Doug Ramsey. A New Mutant, Doug had the power to decipher any language. When the alien Warlock came to Earth he communicated with him and they became best friends. Years later, Doug was shot by the Animator while saving Wolfsbane. Warlock was killed, during the X-Tinction Agenda, by Cameron Hodge when he tried to steal his shape-shifting powers. Some time later, The Friends of Humanity, trying to create a new kind of anti-mutant soldier, united Doug's mental implants and Warlock's techno-organic material "creating" the Phalanx, a lifeform with a collective mind. The android Zero, Stryfe's former stooge, took Douglock out of the collective, to help him escape Stryfe's death drones. In precognition of his ultimate destruction, Zero downloaded information that could lead to a cure for Legacy into Douglock's mind. He then joined Excalibur, helping to defeat the Phalanx. He's tried to unite both his mechanical and human side, but learned that maybe he is better the way he is today in light of the realization that he is a divergent entity and not Doug Ramsey resurrected. However, he has also undergone a large personality modification since he was captured and deconstructed by the British Intelligence agency known as Black Air, leaving him more like a person and less like a machine. In a battle against mutant Sidri, members of a collective race like the Phalanx, he surrendered his connection with the Phalanx to the Sidri so they could be once again one with their people, completely removing himself from the collective. Recently, when Moira MacTaggert locked herself in the Muir isolation chamber and Rahne dove in after her, Douglock ruined the Legacy research Moira was performing by springing Rahne prematurely. He did such a misguided thing because he has a crush on the Irish werewolf. After Captain Britain and Meggan wed, Excalibur disbanded. Douglock remained on Muir Island with Rahne and Moira even throughout the stay of the next Excalibur team lead by Tremor and the next Excalibur team with former members such as Nightcrawler and Shadowcat. While the latest Excalibur team moved on to a different home, Douglock remains at the Muir Island Research Center with Moira and Rahne. During X-Factor's visit to Muir Island, Douglock met with Click, a Phalanx similar to himself. He helped Click decipher and unlock some memory fragments lost in Click's mind.
