History: Tanya Thomas, a Northern city girl, and Theodore Mitchell, a Southern farm boy, met in college, Howard University to be precise. They had a freaky, hot relationship that lasted all four years of school until they got their degrees and went their seperate ways. Tanya started at an accounting firm, while Theodore began penning his first national bestseller, a science-fiction novel. On his first, national book tour, he met up with his old flame Tanya and they rekindled the romance. They established a business partnership, moved into Theodore's apartment in Atlanta, and were married soon after. Theodore Jr. came along soon thereafter. He was spoiled to death, and was the quintessential brat, despite his barely maintaining a C-average through school. Kevin came along about 5 years later, and depsite his perfect son qualifications he was treated like sloppy seconds. When Kevin was ten his mother died of a brain tumor. His father couldn't write anymore because of the grief, they lost the house, and had to move in with Theodore's sister, and her husband in Los Angeles. Dwanye was in the advertising business and he would frequently bring one of his associates, Jerry Smith, and his family over for dinner or a barbecue or something so Theodore Jr. and Kevin got to know Lynda and Elijah pretty well. Jerry got caught in a compromising situation with his secretary just after Kevin's 17th birthday, violating his prenup. Kelli got the house, the car, the kids, the dogs -- everything. Kelli and Theodore hooked up a year later. It was a little weird for the families at first, him being black and her white but they were happy so everyone else was happy. A few months later little Tommy was born, that was the final straw for Kevin. He wasn't just content to leave the house to go to school he left the country and found his destiny.
