Known superhuman powers: Omor was born a mutant with peak natural human attributes (strength, speed, agility/dexerity, natural senses, etc.) that developed with the onset of puberty; his military training has honed these attributes to well beyond the natural human limits. Due to his exposure to raw vibranium during a laboratory accident, Omor's latent mythanthropic mutation became active. He gained the ability to alter his form from his normal human self to a humanoid form in which he acquires a merger of the physical attributes of a golden eagle and a lion. In this form, Omor's upper body becomes coated with down and feathers while his lower body gains a thick layer of fur in excess of what would be naturally found on a lion enabling him to survive the extreme temperatures of the upper atmosphere. His visual acuity increases to six times that of his already enhanced sight and his ability to rotate his eyes and head increases to the point where his blind spot is almost eliminated. His beak is strong enough to shred tissue and crack bone. He develops a third set of appendages, wings with an 18' span, that enable him to fly. The bones of his wings are hollow though the rest of his skeleton is not. He has a remarkably low fat count and high muscle mass (concentrated in his shoulders, wings, and legs primarily) as well as increased cardiovascular and respiratory efficiency. His fingernails are modified into long, curved talons that can rend steel. His skeleton and musculature are further adapted to allow him to run either on two of four appendages with no difficulty. This form also affords Omor with an increased endurance and resistance to physical injury. Natural fatigue toxins are produced less and eliminated with greater speed than in the normal body and his skin is unusually tougher making it incredibly difficult to cut or bruise though no less vulnerable to puncture. In this form, his attributes are heightened across the board but with special emphasis on his sight and the strength of his legs and wings. Although his intellect and personality remain, Omor loses the power of speech only able to vocalize high-pitched avian screeches that are painful and potentially deafening for the average person to listen to for extend periods and the longer he remains in this form his intelligence and humanity slowly fade until he becomes a feral beast acting on instinct alone. Currently, the transformation is only activated during times of extreme emotional distress, but Omor has the capacity to learn to consciously control it.
Skills: English, military science, mechanical engineering

History: Omor was born in Central Wakanda to Karata, a research engineer dealing with medical applications of vibranium, and Chandra, an elementary school teacher. He had a congenital heart defect that kept him inside most of the time and he had little opportunity to make friends of his own age so his older brother, N'yaga, became his best friend. N'yaga was a talented athlete; as he grew older he wanted to be out with his peers, particularly of the female variety, more and more so he had less and less time for Omor, especially after he started high school leaving his brother behind in elementary school. With N'yaga too busy for him, Omor's hero worship soon turned to the royal guard. It was then that he decided he wanted go into military service. His parents tried dissuading him from this path as they were both adamant pacifists and they used his medical condition to support their arguments. Omor was disheartened for a time particularly after he learned of the rigorous physical expectations the army has of men even before they enlist but that changed when he began high school. Omor was visiting with his father at work. Some raw vibranium was accidentally released from containment by a computer virus and the facility had to be evacuated. Karata noticed at the last minute however that a coworker had fallen unconscious in the vibranium chamber while trying to get the situation under control. He rushed in to aid him, but was felled by the vibranium as well due to a compromised radiation suit leaving Omor to go in after them both. He somehow found the strength to drag both men to safety though he was too late to save both. His father and he went in for a medical examination to determine any residual effects. The doctor told them that Omor's heart was getting stronger, stronger than any of the cardiologists had ever expected and credited it to a side effect of exposure to raw vibranium. Conversely, the doctor discovered a small cancerous growth in his father's prostate. Karata had the necessary surgeries and Omor started playing sports becoming as good as if not better an athlete than his brother which surprised everyone because N'yaga was the best. During his last few years of high school, N'yaga began to withdraw from his athletics and concentrate on his academics to let his brother have the spotlight. He eventually left to attend Oxford on scholarship. Omor enlisted in the military after his graduation three years later. He scored very highly on the written exams but his medical history made him a questionable candidate. He outperformed every other man in the physical exams though and was directly granted entry into the officer's school. N'yaga had graduated, in the meanwhile, with a degree in computer science and had taken up residence with his girlfriend in her apartment in Sheffield. He was working towards a Ph.D. in mathematics. Shortly after Omor was commissioned as an officer, Wakanda was plunged into a civil war against Erik Killmonger. Omor's squad was ambushed by Killmonger's men who'd been hideously mutated by their exposures to raw vibranium. His men were getting slaughtered and the stress of it all triggered his initial transformation. When another squad arrived to back them up, Omor fell victim to friendly fire. He fell from a great height as a result of the wound to his shoulder, broke his wing, and reverted to normal. He was found once the battle had been won and rushed back to Central Wakanda for medical treatment. The nature of his injuries and the fact that he had been found naked and unconscious prompted the doctors to pull his medical file. They determined that his exposure to raw vibranium years ago had affected him in much the same way it had affected Killmonger's men and he was discharged from military service as his abilities were judged to be more of a liability than an asset. He became a pariah in the community and no one knew quite how to deal with him after that debacle so he left Wakanda and went to England to spend some time with his brother. Omor didn't know what to do with himself. The military was his life's goal and it had slipped through his fingers. N'yaga suggested Omor visit the holy places of the East where he might find peace and comfort. Omor used his savings and his severance pay to go to Nepal, India, and Bhutan. He did some mountaineering, he talked with priests, and meditated a lot. He didn't find any solace or enlightenment during his travels, however. Omor eventually returned to England only to find Sheffield had burned to the ground just days before. N'yaga died in the fires, crushed beneath a fallen support beam. Omor was distraught and confused, even more so when he learned the details of the fire. Omor brought N'yaga home for the burial once his body was prepared. After the funeral, he remained behind at the grave. As night fell, his grief and sorrow gave way to anger. He transformed into Gryphon again and took off towards England in search of who he blamed for his brother's death, Excalibur. He exhausted himself before even reaching the Mediterranean. Naked and disoriented, he appealed to a Moroccan innkeeper for assistance by claiming he was attacked by bandits along the road. He got some clothes and called his parents for an emergency loan to get the rest of the way to England to confront Excalibur whom he holds responsible for his brother's death. Gryphon was intercepted and held captive by Brimstone, who manipulated the beast within him until it was out of control and released him to attack Excalibur, using him in a plan to topple the Hellfire Club. Gryphon was defeated and taken in by Excalibur to be helped. However, he soon grew disillusioned with Excalibur and his position with them. Excalibur was not a collection of soldiers in the fashion Omor was used to. After Wisdom and Nightcrawler, the only two he felt a kinship with, left the team he left as well. Omor borrowed some money from his brother's girlfriend, got his documents in order and left the country to rediscover his purpose in life. En route to the States from his homeland, his flight was intercepted by lifeless automotons dispatched to apprehend Henry Gyrich. He and another mutant intervened to prevent a midair catastrophe but both were inadvertantly thrown from the plane out over the Atlantic ocean. The shock forced Omor into his other form, which then completed the trans-Atlantic journey surviving on raw fish and other such unpleasent things. Eventually reaching Canada, Gryphon was intercepted by Department H and detained ultimately reverting to human. He was left to rot in a high security detention facility for several months' time until he was released by MUSE operatives who gave him his freedom and training in the use of his power in exchange for service to the Underground.

Personality: Omor was trained to be a soldier and that's all he's really known. It's devastated him that he can't perform that service for his country anymore. Due to the nature of his powers, he's afraid to get close to anyone for fear that they might get hurt.
