History: Joshua's father was a lieutenant in the Public Eye and his mother an administrative assistant for Alchemax. He was pretty much set for life until his grandfather intervened. Samuel Maelith was a prominant computer engineer within the corporation until he succombed to Alheimer's and slowly lost his grip on reality. He disappeared from his apartment one day and took up residence in a slum where he became a Thorite minister, quickly amassing a small group of followers who were disillusioned with their lot in life and looking for anything to put their hope in again. When Joshua was seven-months-old, Samuel dispatched some of his men to abduct him because he believed his son and daughter-in-law could not properly raise him. They observed the Maeliths' habits for several weeks before striking. Using makeshift explosives they crippled the Maeliths' car, bringing it down hard. Kevin was momentarily stunned but Sheran suffered serious head trauma that sent her into a coma. Samuel's men snatched Joshua from the backseat and ran as Kevin started to recover. Not wanting to leave Sheran vulnerable in such a dangerous environment, Kevin was forced to let the abductors escape. A small contingent of Public Eye were given leave to pursue the investigation under Kevin's command. They were even more brutal than usual in their search and the slum's citizens were suffering for it. To end the rampant persecutions, Samuel went alone and unarmed to face down his son with Joshua in his arms. Kevin was shocked. He had thought his father long dead and when Samuel began to preach to him and the Public Eye he knew his presumptions were correct. Kevin took his son from his father's arms and gave the order to shoot, but the officers soon found themselves surrounded and outnumbered by Samuel's followers armed with ragged makeshift weaponry. A bloody combat insued with the Thorites taking the bulk of the casualties but their fanaticism eventually prevailed. Kevin and all of his men were killed. Sheran was taken off of life support. Joshua was raised and indoctrinated into the cult by his grandfather becoming a more diehard believer than any of the others and on his eighteenth birthday he had himself branded as a mark of fidelity. That same year, his grandfather started to slip further and further into his disease and age until he was no longer in any condition to lead anyone. Joshua euthanized him and took the leadership role of the cult until, in the next year, he was abducted in a raid of the slums for subjects for drug testing. The Thorites scattered having had both of their leaders cut down and the cult was dissolved. Alchemax was testing a new narcotic and used the captured Thorites as guinea pigs. Joshua was the only test subject to survive and his body reacted quite unexpectedly to the narcotic. He was deluded into believing that he was an Asgardian god, the god of speed Hermod, as his body had been mutated to possess such abilities. Hermod was to be moved to a better equipped facility when the Morlocks crashed the holding facility where he was currently held. He was taken along for the ride as they stole a van and made their escape, later fighting Venom alongside them and has decided to participate in their adventures.

Personality: Joshua can come across as superior and condescending, which comes with being so insane as to believe oneself to be a god. If he could be brought down to reality, then his positive, never-say-die, winning attitude would shine where his current insanity now does.
