Known superhuman powers: Nikolai is a mutant empath. He can read the emotions of others as if by telepathy as well as influencing those emotions. Theoretically, he could learn to use these abilities, which are psionic in nature, to project a weapon akin to Psylocke's psiknife, a psionic blade charged with a particular emotion. His t/o arms grant him Superhuman Class 9 strength, and are also malleable to the extent of forming into blades and other simple constructs, along with regenerative abilities.

History: Nikolai's parents immigrated to the U.S. with his sister a couple years before he was born. Back in the mother country they had traveled with a small circus troup (his father was a swordswallower and his mother an acrobat). They carved a nice life for themselves in New York by opening a small academy where they taught fencing and gymnastics, repsectively. Nikolai was an excellent student both in school and in his parent's academy as was his sister before him. They were always competing for attention and when she was accepted into a prestigious ballet school it was only natural that Nikolai one-upped her by being a mutant. Despite there fierce competition they were as close as two siblings could possibly be. Once Ekaterina had left home for the academy the competition for attention, particularly his father's attention did not cease; instead, the object of his competition turned towards his chief rival, another of his father's students, Nicholas. Though not as proficient a fencer as Nikolai, Nicholas made of for his lack of talen with the ability to rouse Nikolai to heights of temper and recklessness. Two years later, after Ekaterina went away to the ballet school and on the eve of Nikolai's high school graduation, she was killed in a fire. This was a devastating blow to the Volodimerovs but to Nikolai particularly. He became a member of Generation X, several months later. Prior to GenX's move to the Massachusetts Academy, Nikolai experienced the second most devastating blow in his life. During, the team's excursion into the other dimensional hellish domain of Mephisto, teammate Styx was impregnated. This unfortunate truth, however, was not revealed until later when, the team was held captive by the Phalanx. Styx went into labor and was sent into an isolatory cavern with only Nikolai to aid her in the birth. Mephisto appeared shortly after and took the child away, leaving Nikolai helpless to do anything. Styx recently left the Massachusetts Academy, and, on top of this, Nikolai's mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Furthermore, Nikolai went without a "code name" for his entire superhero-in-training career up to this point. The name Sentry, was given to him by his sister in a weird waking dream. He had been considering it for some time, but felt with all that'd happened it was not fitting. The dream/vision, however, changed his mind, and he adopted the name with his sister's blessing. As Sentry, he was accidently exposed to deadly radiation in a battle with the assassin, Magnum. As a result, his arms became damaged beyond repair and would have had to have been amputated had Mace not come up with some techno-organic replacements. Shortly thereafter, Generation X moved again, this time to northwestern Arizona. Following a failed rescue infiltration of a government facility to recover the former Ms (Ebon, Raid, Shift, and Gem), Nikolai recieved word that his mother was going into surgery for her cancer. He left immediately without so much as a good-bye and returned to New York to be with his parents. While his mother was convalescing Nikolai took it upon himself too seek out so-called occult specialists in the hopes that one would lead him to Mephisto and a way to recover Styx's baby. Unfortunately all he came across was a plethora of frauds, charletons, and two bit hacks. Nikolai was determined though and he was eventually sent to Dr. Stephen Strange by his new friend, Arturo, the proprieter of a reputable occult bookstore in the Village. Strange, it turned out, ordered many rare texts through the store often. Strange dissauded Nikolai from trying to charge into Mephisto's realm alone and without any preparations. His first suggestion was that Nikolai develop his empathic abilities citing that they would be a greater asset to him than his physical prowess. His next advice was that Nikolai do something he'd always had trouble with: enlisting the help of his friends. Nikolai followed Strange's instruction and with his assistance developed his competancy in the usage of his empathy. When he heard that Mace had severed his ties with Generation X and become a terrorist he left Strange's tutelege. He knew that his friends would need him but his father became ill. As his mother was still recooperating and could not very well take care of Misha Volodimerov alone, Nikolai remained in New York a little longer. His parents had just purchased a new 1999 Lexus ES 300 4-Door Sedan, so they let Nikolai drive their old 1991 Ford Mustang GT 2-Door Convertible back to Arizona.

Personality: Nikolai likes being in control of the situation at all times though he rarely is and this frustrates him. He can get reckless and violent and irrational when he gets frustrated and generally turns into a very anti-social SOB. However, when Nikolai is in control of things or at least thinks he is he's a force to be reckoned with. It is then that his high intellect and repretoire of skills becomes most useful. When Nikolai's in control of the situation and himself he appears as something much more than a bruiser with a sharp stick...
