History: After encountering his future self and member of the Guardians of Galaxy, Vance Astro, Vance Astrovik knew that his life would be far from boring. As an astronaut,Vance Astro, known as Major Victory to his Guardian teammates, spent almost a century travelling through space in a cryogenic slumber. He was to be the first contact with outside worlds. However, he awoke to find that his mission had been for nothing, and that his friends and companions were long gone. Not wanting his past self to go through what he had, Astro returned to Earth to persuade his young self not to become an astronaut. The anomaly caused by the meeting of the two Vance's face to face sparked young Vance's dormant telekinetic powers. Unfortunately, Vance's parents weren't quite as thrilled with their son's new "gift" as he was. Vance withstood severe physical abuse from his father, and Vance's mother did little to intervene. Vance soon ran away to develop and learn more about his powers. Of course, he wanted to escape the abuse of his father as well. In an attempt to evade a private detective that his parents had hired to find him, Vance became a wrestler under the alias of Manglin' John Mahoney. While wrestling, he teamed up with the Thing, who was doing some serious soul-searching of his own. The Thing eventually convinced Vance to return to his parents, and his mother assured him that his father was attending a therapy program. However, Mr. Astrovik continued to abuse his son, and Vance sought refuge in a team of super heroes - the Avengers! Ironically, Vance was rejected by his idol, Captain America. It was then that Night Thrasher recruited Vance, a.k.a. Marvel Boy, to become a member of his new team. Marvel Boy was the backbone and conscience of the New Warriors, and he quickly fell in love with fellow teammate Firestar. Finally, the scorn and abuse he received from his father became too much for Vance to handle. In a rage of anger, Vance lashed out and accidentally killed his father. Although Vance was acquitted of first degree murder, he was found guilty of negligent homicide and sent to the Vault. At the Vault, Vance earned the respect of his overseers as well as that of his fellow inmates. After he was released on parole, he returned to the Warriors, this time as Justice. During one time-spanning battle with the Sphinx, Vance was sent back in time to discover that his father had been abused as a son too. Since then, Vance has strived to end the circle of abuse in the world. A portal linking Hell and Central Park had been opened and demons started rushing into the world, Vance fought with the Avengers to close the portal and save the world. The Scarlet Spider asked him to join afterwards, which he readily accepted. Since then, he remained with the Avengers. Even after the Scarlet Spider disappeared and the team disbanded, he was one of the first members of the reformed team under the LCD Corporation. When that fell through, he still joined yet another reformation of the Avengers with Andromeda as leader. His devotion to the Avengers has been welcomed, though it also lost him his fiance, Firestar, who left him to become an X-Man. Justice found a new love interest during his time with the Avengers. However, she was not a super powered hero, she was just a college student. This eventually led Justice to be tempted by her in a normal life, which he gave in to and left the Avengers.
